1. Information We Collect
When you interact with Knolby through WhatsApp, we collect your WhatsApp phone number and display name as provided by WhatsApp. When you subscribe to a plan, we collect payment-related information (transaction reference, amount, date) through UPI, bank transfer or WhatsApp Pay — we do not store card numbers or banking credentials. We also collect your responses to MCQ questions, your accuracy scores, streak data, and readiness metrics to power our AI analytics and personalise your learning experience.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to deliver daily MCQ questions and faculty explanations via WhatsApp; track your exam readiness, accuracy and learning streak; generate weekly AI progress reports; process and verify subscription payments; send important service updates and announcements; improve our question bank, explanations and analytics algorithms; and provide customer support when you contact us.
3. WhatsApp and Third-Party Services
Our service operates through WhatsApp Business API. By messaging Knolby on WhatsApp, you agree to WhatsApp's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Your messages are transmitted through WhatsApp's infrastructure, which is governed by Meta's data practices. We use Supabase (a PostgreSQL-based backend) to store your exam progress data securely. Payment processing is handled through UPI and banking infrastructure in compliance with RBI guidelines. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers located in secure cloud infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), access controls limiting who can view your data, and regular security reviews. Your WhatsApp number is used solely to deliver exam content and support — it is never shared with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and learning data for as long as you remain an active user or subscriber. If you discontinue your subscription and request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, retaining only anonymised aggregate statistics for internal analytics. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required under Indian financial regulations.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements); withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time by messaging "STOP" on WhatsApp; and lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority. 7. Children's Privacy
Knolby is designed for exam aspirants aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
8. Cookies and Tracking
Our website (knolby.com) may use essential cookies for performance analytics (such as page load times and error tracking). We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. Our WhatsApp-based service does not use cookies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify active users via WhatsApp. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
